Hello is it possible to disable the recipient and always make the recipient the admin? It could a custom code on functions.php as long as we can make it work.
Please go to dashboard > Front End PM > Settings > Recipients. under Only Admin section you can set your admin. And set max recipients to 0 (zero)
This will to the trick.

I meant: non-admin user can send message to admin only, but admin can message any user.
Yes possible. You will need to use different feature.
1. Set Dashboard > Front End PM > Settings > Recipients > Max recipient to 1 (one)
2. Follow https://sp-test1.arogga.co/docs/front-end-pm-pro/getting-started-2/role-to-role-block/ (last 2 paragraphs) for each role except admin role.Let me know.

it does seem to work, however I would like do disable “TO” field altogether for anyone but admins. Just send to admin by default (without checkbox) while leaving this field for admin.Cheers.
It should not show any checkbox. It should hide “To” field altogether for your set user roles. Did you follow last 2 paragraphs from that docs page?
How many admins you have added?
